6 Row.  Provides a deep golden to brown color. Excellent for Nut Brown Ales. Typical Color L: 28 Flavor contributions: toasty, biscuity, baking bread, nutty.


Beer Type: Abbey, Porter, Dark Ale


Substitutions: Aromatic Malt, Biscuit Malt


6 Row:  Most brewers believe 2-row malt has a fuller, maltier flavor while 6-row produces a grainier flavor in the final beer. 6-row typically has more protein and enzyme content than 2-row, is thinner, and contains less carbohydrates. Another difference is 6-row is grown in North America and most European brewers would not consider using it.
